WHAT IT DOES

Expands FERC’s authority to act as the lead agency for coordinating federal environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act of natural gas pipelines. Sets a 90-day deadline for applying for other authorizing agencies and requires concurrent reviews when multiple agencies are involved in the review.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The bill sets reasonable limits on environmental reviews of pipelines that are vital to lifting a bottleneck on needed natural gas pipeline infrastructure.
