Press Release - 2025 Conservative Clean Energy Voter Project Results

Washington, DC – Wednesday, February 12, 2024 – ClearPath Action released its 2025 public opinion polling on clean energy issues. ClearPath Action has been running a nationwide survey since 2020 to track voter sentiment about clean energy issues and what they want to see from their Members of Congress.

“There is an incredibly strong demand from voters to support policies to build new clean energy generation,” said Luke Bolar, Chief External Affairs Officer at ClearPath Action. “And the overwhelming majority of voters — 85 percent — believing we can both develop cleaner AND more affordable energy.”

A few toplines from the national survey include:
  • 78% of voters believe it is important that their Member of Congress supports policies that promote clean energy.
  • This includes 62% of Republicans and 58% of Republican or Republican-leaning Independents who say they support Trump first over the Republican Party.
  • 77% support tax incentives for American companies that develop clean energy technology.
  • 76% support tax incentives for American manufacturers who find ways to emit less carbon from things like steel and cement.
  • 70% support reforms to fix the lengthy permitting process that slows the building of new clean energy generation
“The Trump Administration will need support from Congress to ensure America is energy dominant, and it’s clear that voters support efforts like energy tax incentives and permitting reform to help deliver,” added Bolar.

ClearPath Action’s Modeling Survey was conducted by Echelon Insights with N=4,049 national registered voters fielded from January 8 - January 15, 2025, with a margin of error of 2.2%. ClearPath Action and Echelon Insights also modeled the data into every Congressional District in this interactive map.
