Press Release - Senate Agriculture Committee Invests in the Innovation Pipeline for American Farmers

Washington, DC – Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 – ClearPath Action released the following statement following the passage of the Agriculture Act of 2026 out of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

“The Senate Agriculture Committee's Farm Bill is an important investment in the technology and innovation needed to keep American agriculture leading the world,” said ClearPath Action CEO Jeremy Harrell. “Putting research dollars to work and helping new technologies move from the lab to the field is how America wins the global race in agricultural innovation.”

This legislation prioritizes USDA innovation programs by:

  • Reauthorizing the Agriculture Advanced Research and Development Authority (AgARDA) and funding the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR);
  • Authorizes the Biochar Research Network Act; and
  • Modernizes Section 9003, the Biorefinery, Renewable Chemical, and Biobased Product Manufacturing Program.

Congress has an opportunity to deliver a Farm Bill that matches the ambition and resilience of American agriculture. ClearPath Action looks forward to working with the House and Senate to deliver a Farm Bill to the President that delivers wins for American farmers and ranchers.
