Streamlining Thermal Energy through Advanced Mechanisms Act or STEAM Act (S. 456 & H.R. 1077)

The Streamlining Thermal Energy through Advanced Mechanisms (STEAM) Act, expands the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to include geothermal energy under the existing categorical exclusion for certain oil & gas activities for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews.

Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2025 (H.R. 755 & S.714)  

The Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2025 seeks to eliminate inconsistencies between the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Critical Minerals List and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Critical Materials List.

The Full Responsibility and Expedited Enforcement Act (FREE Act) 

The Full Responsibility and Expedited Enforcement Act (FREE Act) will modernize the federal permitting process through permit-by-rule implementation. The proposal shifts the burden of proving applicant compliance onto government agencies. If the agency raises no concerns about applicant compliance within 180 days of application submission, then a permit can be automatically granted.

DOE and USDA Interagency Research Act (H.R. 1326)

The DOE and USDA Interagency Research Act strengthens and formalizes the essential federal research partnerships that American innovators need to deliver clean firm power and increase U.S. agricultural competitiveness.

Innovative Mitigation Partnerships for Asphalt and Concrete Technologies Act (H.R. 1534)

The Innovative Mitigation Partnerships for Asphalt and Concrete Technologies Act (IMPACT) strengthens the competitiveness of American manufacturing by starting a dedicated Department of Energy program to drive RD&D for cement, concrete and asphalt emissions reductions.

The Accelerating Reliable Capacity Act (S.5421)

The Accelerating Reliable Capacity (ARC) Act of 2024 seeks to incentivize investments in new nuclear reactors by reducing the risk of project cost escalation to break the project-finance gridlock on these innovative and capital-intensive projects.
